Controlling the parameters on Ableton Live with the
UC-33 is easy. You can get started straight away by opening
the preset file for your PC
or Mac
operating system.
Use preset 21 for these Ableton Live preset templates.
These preset templates are perfect to get you started
in Ableton Live. There are two presets for each operating
system. 'Live! UC33 1' and 'Live! UC33 2'. The former
simply controls all the volume, pan and two sends on
the eight tracks. The latter controls this for the first
6 tracks and the first send, and then controls the cross
fader, monitor level, master pan and the tempo on the
UC-33 controllers 8, 16, 24 and 32 respectively.
Once you want to start controlling more, like any effects
or VSTs you may wish to add, just change the UC-33 global
channel by pressing 'GLOBAL CHANNEL' and using the +
and - buttons to move up to the next channel. Then you
can assign a fresh set of controllers from the UC-33
sending on a different channel. Then press the 'MIDI'
button on the top right of Ableton Live, click on the
parameter you want to control, and move the controller,
or button on the UC-33 that you want to control it.
So you can use all 16 channels on the same preset to
control a total of 47 x 16 = 752 different parameters
from the same preset!
