Stop
and Play Cubase! Instructions for setting up the UC-33
or Keystation Pro 88 with Cubase

With the new UC-33 SX and VST Multichannel
and Channel Strip files, you can go from the Multichannel
setting to the Channel Strip setting without having
to load new settings in the Devices Setup.
The new stop and play button settings work much better
than the previous ones.
First make sure you are using one of the UC-33's Cubase
presets by pressing the PRESET 1 button or by pressing
'RECALL' then 10.

Assigning
the stop and play buttons in Cubase with the UC-33 or
Keystation Pro 88:
1. Download
the UC-33
or Keystation
Pro 88 SX Multichannel and Channel Strip or VST
Multichannel and Channel Strip file.
2. Now import the file to the Generic Remote setting.
a. Go to 'Devices' – 'Device Setup...' and select 'Generic
Remote'.
b. In the right hand side of the window appearing, click
on 'Import'.
c. Navigate to where the downloaded UC-33 or Keystation
Pro 88 SX or VST Multichannel and Channel Strip file
is and double click on it.
3. Make sure the assignable stop and
play buttons on the are set with LSB and MSB of 64:
a. Press the stop button.
b. Press the CONTROL ASSIGN button, then quickly press
the 'DATA LSB' button, then 64. Then quickly press the
'DATA MSB' button then 64.
If the 'CONTROL ASSIGN' mode stops and you haven't managed
to enter both the LSB and MSB values, you can press
the 'CONTROL ASSIGN' button again and finish the data
entry.
c. Press the play button
d. Repeat b.
Now remember
to save your new prest by pressing MEMORY then 01 or
10 for UC-33, or 7 for Keystation Pro 88.
4. Open the small Generic Remote window by going to
'Devices' – 'Generic Remote'. You can now easily switch
bewteen the 1-8 multichannel setting and the channel
strip setting by selecting them from this window.
You can also change the fast forward and rewind buttons
to work on a press and release function if you prefer.
Thus you hold down the button for as long as you want
the fast forward or rewind to be moving, then on release
it stops.
Note that with this setting you will not be able to
switch the Hi-Mid and Hi EQs on and off with the UC-33
in the Channel Strip mode.
a. Select the rewind button by pressing it or using
the CONTROL SELECT feature.
b. Press CONTROL ASSIGN then 146.
c. Either while the LCD display is still flashing, or
after pressing CONTROL ASSIGN again, press PROGRAM 016
then MSB 64.
d. Repeat c. for the fast forward button, pressing 017
in stead of 016. |
